The result is to accept defeat. With this, the one-time Grand Slam winner of the tournament Sania Mirza said goodbye to her 20-year Wimbledon career.

Sania, 35, is in the last year of her career. She will say goodbye to the tennis court at the end of this year. With Wimbledon out, the only thing left is the US Open. And the 6-time Grand Slam winner will officially retire after playing that. Sania Mirza, who is in her final year on tour, and Pavic were poised to win the match when they led 4-2 in the second set, but second-seeded Skupski and Krawczyk won five of the next six games to force a third set.

In the deciding set, Mirza and Pavic broke their opponent’s serve but were quickly broken themselves. Pavic committed two double faults in the 12th game, allowing Skupski and Krawczyk to convert the match point. This is Mirza’s best performance in mixed doubles at the All England Club. She has reached the quarterfinals in 2011, 2013, and 2015 previously.
