Moeen Ali Criticize The Hectic Cricket Schedule Ahead of T20 World Cup 2022

All-rounder Moeen Ali was a member of the England team that won the T20 World Cup 2022 title in Australia. England is going to play international matches again to keep the joy of winning the World Cup. Moeen Ali has termed such a hectic cricket schedule as ‘horrible and shameful’.

England will start the three-match ODI series against Australia in Adelaide from Thursday (November 17). According to Moeen, due to the busy schedule of international cricket, it is not possible to enjoy the moment of winning the title in a big tournament like the World Cup. The players are sweating for the new series instead of enjoying the title.

England beat Pakistan by 5 wickets to win the T20 World Cup final in Melbourne on Sunday. England cricketers cannot fully enjoy the joy of winning the T20 World Cup title for the second time .

The England cricket team has to enter the field again within 72 hours of winning the World Cup. In such a situation, Moin Ali expressed his anger about the international schedule .

“As a team we want to enjoy and celebrate,” said Moeen, 35. It needs that time. It took a lot of hard work to win the title. Not just when the tournament was going on, it was a matter of preparation around the whole tournament beforehand.”

He said, “To play the match again in three days, it is very scary. As cricketers we are used to it. But playing matches every two-three days is very difficult to give 100% all the time.”

In 2019, England played a Test against Ireland at Lord’s just 10 days after winning the title by defeating New Zealand in the ODI World Cup. After 19 days, the English started the Ashes. That memory is also very fresh in Moin Ali’s mind.

Referring to the matter, Moin Ali said, “It has been like this for quite some time. The Ashes were played within two weeks of winning the 2019 World Cup and Ireland were to face a Test in 10 days. This is a shame.”
