Featuring six teams, the fifteenth edition of the tournament, the United Arab Emirates hosted the event because of covid-19 outbreak in Sri Lanka, where it was likely to be hosted. Pakistan and Sri Lanka were the two finalists of the tournament, where Sri Lanka won the 15th edition of the event.

India has won 7 Asia Cup titles to its name, making it one of the most successful teams in Asia Cups. With 6 trophies, Sri Lanka is the second most successful team in the Asia Cup.
