PSL 2025 and IPL 2025 will be Held At Same Time

The Pakistan Super League typically takes place at the start of the calendar year. Indian Premier Leagues games are played from March to May. But in the 2025, these two T20 leagues IPL and PSL will be held at the same time. The busy schedule Pakistan Cricket FTP for the 2024–25 season is the primary cause of this.

PSL often takes place in January or February. Additionally, the ICC Champions Trophy will be played in Pakistan in February 2025, according the organization’s travel programmed for the future. Since the World Cup in 1996, Pakistan hasn’t hosted an ICC competition. Due to security concerns, no ICC competition was staged in Pakistan during the preceding three upcoming visits.

By winning this year’s FTP, the Pakistan Cricket Board hopes to effectively arrange the Champions Trophy. The PSL event earlier in the year must thus be cancelled by the PCB. PSL will be held at a favorable time between March and May, according to PCB. Moreover, the IPL runs from March through May.

Several elite teams have visited Pakistan over the previous three years despite security concerns. The number of premier teams visiting Pakistan would rise, according the 2019 FTP. Pakistan will currently host 13 Tests, 26 ODIs, and 27 Twenty20 games. In addition, Babar-Rizwan travelled outside of the nation.

Due to the hectic schedule, the tournament will not be contested in 2026 at the scheduled time in addition to the PSL schedule being moved in 2025. From 2027, PSL can resume its regular schedule.

Faisal Hasnain, Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board, commented on Pakistan’s busy calendar, saying, “In order to fix Pakistan’s hectic schedule in the FTP 2023-2027 cycle, we have given attention to the quality of play and managing the pressure of the players to play matches.”

In order for all three versions to run usefully concurrently, we are attempting to strike a balance between them. The tour of Pakistan by teams like England, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, and Bangladesh would no doubt please our supporters.

Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out of Asia Cup 2022

Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out of Asia Cup 2022

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah ruled out from the 15th edition of Asia Cup 2022 due to a back injury

In June of this year, Jasprit Bumrah last played for the Indian team on a tour to England. To alleviate the strain of back-to-back games, Tana was not selected for the visit to the West Indies and Zimbabwe. It is now clear that he will be injured and unable to participate in the Asia Cup.

A representative of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated, “Jasprit Bumrah has a back ailment. He won’t participate in the Asia Cup. He is our most important bowler; perhaps he will return prior to the World Cup. I don’t want him to participate in the Asia Cup if it will raise his injury risk.”

In a few days, the injured bowler will begin his recovery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. The pacer is attempting to rehabilitate before the home series against Australia and South Africa preceding the World Cup. Currently, he is spending time in the United States with his family.

Jasprit Bumrah’s back ailment is not new; he has been out on many occasions in the past. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Abesh Khan’s participation in the 2022 Asia Cup is virtually certain. Jasprit Bumrah has represented India in 30 Tests, 72 ODIs, and 58 T20Is to far. During this period, he has collected 318 wickets.

The ACB (Afghanistan Cricket Board) has released its Asia Cup 2022 team. Afghanistan will send their Twenty20 International skipper Mohammad Nabi to the upcoming Asia Cup in 2022. Now in charge of leading the team from the front, Nabi has also risen to the top of the ICC Men’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings.

The six countries can be divided into two categories (A and B). Group B consists of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. In the 27th inaugural match at Dubai International Stadium, Afghanistan will take against five-time champion Sri Lanka.

Although it is capable of pulling off major upsets against the best squad, Afghanistan has yet to achieve anything of consequence. Afghanistan beat Bangladesh, the tournament’s runner-up, in the previous Asia Cup.

To earn a spot in the Asia Cup 2022, the Afghans will have to fight against the best this year. In 2022, when the Asia Cup is hosted in the United Arab Emirates, the starting eleven for Afghanistan will be made up entirely of locals. Historically, Afghan cricketers have used this pitch extensively.

This year in Twenty20 Internationals, Afghanistan has beaten the Netherlands 3-0 at home, Zimbabwe 3-0 on the road, and Bangladesh 2-1 away from home.

Along with Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, a leg-spinner who can also bat in the middle order and contribute throughout the crucial middle and death overs, will be under intense scrutiny. Among T20I bowlers, Rashid Khan is presently placed at #4.

Afghanistan Squad 2022:

Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Hazratullah Zazai, Usman Ghani, Darwish Rasooli, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi (c), Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan, Karim Janat, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Nijat Masood, Ihsanullah Janat, Fareed Ahmad Malik,Noor Ahmed, Sharafuddin Ashraf.

Notably, more than six Bangladeshi players have been injured and are currently in rehabilitation. Litton Das, a star batsman, was recently ruled out of action after suffering a hamstring injury. Unfortunately, Nurul Hasan’s finger injury meant he couldn’t join the rest of the team in Zimbabwe. Hasan is currently in Singapore getting checked out, and while he may make the cut at the last minute, Das isn’t sure what his prognosis is after being ruled out for four weeks.

Mustafizur Rahman (ankle), Mushfiqur Rahman (thumb), and Shoriful Islam are also out due to injuries (knee). Those who were left off the Zimbabwe trip, like Yasir Ali and Mohammad Saifuddin, must also pass a fitness test before they can be considered for selection.

As if dealing with injuries weren’t enough, the BCB also has to choose a new captain. As the frontrunner, Shakib al Hasan must get the board’s OK to sponsor Betwinner News. It’s down to Mahmuduallah, Litton Das, and Nurul Hasan for the role of skipper.

Bangladesh Squad 2022:

Nazmul Hossain Shanto (Captain), Naim Sheikh, Yasir Ali Chowdhury, Afif Hossain, Zakir Hasan, Minhajul Abedin Afridi, Aminul Islam Biplob, Soumya Sarkar, Tanvir Islam, Mahmud Hasan, Mehede Rana, Sumon Khan, Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan, Abu Hider Rony and Mahadi Hasan.

For the Asia Cup in 2022, senior opener KL Rahul is expected to make his comeback after a lengthy injury layoff. KL Rahul was supposed to return to his starting slot in the Indian team for the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe, but he will instead play in the Asia Cup 2022 as he continues to recover.

It is worth noting that in his last six T20I innings, Rohit Sharma has batted third, after Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant. In order to have a formidable squad, India has been assessing a number of potential players.

Interesting bowler Deepak Chahar, 19, will play for India again in the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe and will almost certainly be on India’s Asia Cup roster. It’s likely that Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel will all be on the Asia Cup squad.

Sri Lanka Get US $6 Million Despite Losing Asia Cup 2022 Hosting Rights

Mohan de Silva, secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), announced that they will earn a magnificent figure of $6 million US. Sri Lanka was originally scheduled to host the Asia Cup but was forced to withdraw due to the country’s ongoing political and economic upheaval.

The Asia Cup 2022 must thus be relocated to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which will host the competition from August 27 to September 11. Afghanistan will be Sri Lanka’s opponent in the opening match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

If Sri Lanka had hosted the Asia Cup in 2022, the economy would have benefited: Mohan de Silva. “Sri Lanka will continue to collect the US$2.5 million hosting fee, the US$1.5 million ticket selling fee, and the US$2 million each participating team owes,”

However, this was mostly due to the stakeholders’ scepticism over the country’s current unrest. “Had we hosted it, Sri Lanka’s economy would have benefited from an increase in tourism, and the country’s image would have been enhanced,” he continued.

Sri Lanka is undergoing its worst financial crisis ever, and in reaction to the growing inflation rate, residents have demonstrated against the government in recent months. Even Sri Lanka’s most famous cricketers, like Sanath Jayasuriya, Mahela Jayawardene, and Kumar Sangakkara, have gone to social media to share their ideas.

Regarding the Asia Cup 2022, it will be played in T20 format as a dress rehearsal for the T20 World Cup in October-November in Australia. After India’s victory in the 2016 edition, this would be the second time the tournament has been played under this format.

Due to the nature of this year’s tournament, archrivals India and Pakistan may meet each other many times. If both sides proceed to the championship match, they may face each other in the Super 4s of Asia Cup 2022 on September 4 and the final on September 11 after their group match on August 28.
